The Calm Before The Storm

Well, we expected it to be a busy busy night last night. It was not. Far from. The wind and rain probably helped that. Also, perhaps the over inflated prices for New Years Eve have caused people to save their money for then!

Was so quiet (yes, I said the q word!) that we all ended up going out and about in cars instead, even then, bugger all happened.

Did anyone else find last night quiet too??

In a word - NO.

The season of goodwill, if it ever existed, officially ended last night.

Our cells were full by midnight and remained so all night. As soon as one went out the front, another came in the back.

PC Rain was on duty in Plodsville for the late Friday and Saturday shifts and he worked wonders. As far as I can tell though, he's not on duty Sunday night so I think it'll be business as usual... I'm back on duty in 18 hours, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

See you on the other side!!!

Well... It's all over AND the shouting! What a let-down. Perth really IS boring! I think there were more people out on a normal Friday night. Crikey(RIP)! I remember when I was young...

I didn't get into any arguments with drunken Yobbos, thump any thugs with my baton, roger anyone with a riot shield. Bugger, it was boring!

Only one person came up to a group of six of us and tried to argue that we should give him a breath test because he wanted to drive home. After about 15 minutes I went up to him and said, "Mate, the fact that you have been standing here for so long arguing the same point indicates that you are still pissed. Have a great year, there's the taxi rank!" (gentle push) Plonker!

I was out in Cheltenham on 29th and it was dead. Couple of criminal damage incidents but no one was around on the town.
